Queen Elizabeth reportedly had an extraordinary reaction after learning that Princess Diana had died.

In the book “My Husband and I: The Inside Story of 70 Years Of the Royal Marriage,” royal author Ingrid Seward revealed that Prince Charles, Prince Philip, and the Queen were the first three royals to receive the news of the late royal’s passing.

All three senior royals were dazed in bewilderment especially since they were vacationing in Balmoral during the summer of 1997. According to Seward, the royals didn’t have any inkling of what was to come before they received the tragic call.

“The call came through form the embassy in the French capital at 3.30 on the Sunday morning of 31 August 1997, and their first reaction was simply one of dazed bewilderment. The Queen was bewildered and caught up by the mood of suspicion as to what had caused the accident. Her first comment, upon being told of Diana’s death, was to say: ‘Someone must have greased the brakes,’” Seward said.

According to Seward, the Queen’s extraordinary remark astounded her royal staff. Shortly after Princess Diana’s death was announced to the public, conspiracy theories claimed that the Queen and Prince Philip had something to do with it.

After her passing, Princess Diana’s former royal butler, Paul Burrell detailed the contents of a letter that the mom of two wrote to him. In the handwritten note, Princess Diana told Burrell that she thinks she was going to be killed by the royal family.

The Princess of Wales said that the particular phase in her life was most dangerous because someone could be planning an accident in her car. She also said that the cause of the accident will be break failure.

As a result, Princess Diana was convinced that she would suffer from a serious head injury that would cause her death. And following her demise, Prince Charles will have the opportunity to get married again.

Since Princess Diana’s comment about the breaks of her car was like what the Queen said, there were rumors that she had the tragic accident plotted. However, this conspiracy theory has already been proven to be incorrect.

The Queen and Prince Charles had nothing to do with Princess Diana’s death. But it is true that Prince Charles eventually remarried.

However, the heir to the throne waited until 2005 to wed Camilla Parker Bowles in a civil ceremony. The couple just celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary last week.
