Taylor Swift helps the presidential run of Joe Biden by lending his political party a music track. The 30-year-old singer has been actively using her social media this year to ensure that the youth head towards the voting polls and it seems this time Swift is allowing to use her music track to target the young voters.

California Rep. Eric Swalwell used Only the Young song, which was featured in the Miss Americana documentary. The representative used the song to encourage the young people to step out and vote as the final week of the election is ongoing.

Swalwell took Twitter to thank the singer for allowing them to use her "voicing" and said that only young could do it. The campaign video was dropped on Oct. 30 by the 39-year-old representative on social media.

The ad went viral on social media since the last days of elections are close. The song marked Swift's approval of any political campaign using her music track for the first time. The campaign video started with a question of suffering and went on to display videos and images of protests and marches happening all over the country in the last four years.

The video opens with a question that asks why powerful people are trying to make voting so difficult for the citizens, followed by footages of the Trump administration’s years in which #MeToo survivors’ march, Black Lives Matter banners and Amy Coney Barrett's statement in the Supreme Court was highlighted.

Moreover, it also brought attention to the ongoing pandemic, immigration, climate crisis, and racial injustice. The video also features Kamala Harris, candidate for US Vice President, and Joe Biden, a candidate for US President.

Swalwell revealed that he heard Swift's track, Only the Young for the first time in January on Netflix's Miss Americana Documentary and he addressed the song as a youth anthem for the year. California democrat revealed that they sent the I Don’t Wanna Live Forever singer a pitch for using her song in the new ad while Swalwell didn't ask for the permission personally.

However, Swalwell disclosed that Swift didn't charge anything for the campaign and responded quickly to the request. In fact, the singer worked with the democrat's team to ensure that they get the gratis license.

According to Swalwell, youth is consequential for the ongoing election due to the coronavirus situation and this song will motivate them to head towards the voting booths.
