President Donald Trump has been facing criticism for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic that continues to claim several lives across the nation. The White House coronavirus task force and other health experts have outlined guidelines to restrict the spread of the virus. Still, the president has constantly slammed the experts for making remarks that do not coincide with his guarantee of a virus-free nation.

Despite the still-raging coronavirus pandemic showing no signs of coming to an end, Trump continues to insist that the people are ready to overcome the crisis. This message contradicts his own health advisers, who have been warning Americans of the toughest months that are still to come.

This flawed messaging has sparked speculations suggesting that if Trump ends up getting reelected in Nov., he might decide to fire political appointees at the federal agencies that spearhead America's response to the coronavirus pandemic, and replace them with loyalists who share his viewpoint, ABC News reported.

On Friday, Trump repeated comments he made back in April about the United States efficiently handling the virus's spread. This comment, which is similar to the one he made in July, came just before his Marine One departure.

Moreover, despite a surge in the number of COVID-19 related deaths, Trump claimed that the corner would be rounded without the vaccine. He made this remark while addressing a crowd in Michigan, where he said they have a vaccine, but even without it, they will be able to round the corner.

Interestingly, his own appointee, Adm. Brett Giroir, a member of the White House coronavirus task force who coordinates COVID testing, said something entirely different just days earlier. Giroir said the virus couldn't be completely defeated until they have the vaccine, and that vaccine is distributed to people across the nation, The Washington Post reported.

He stressed building up herd immunity in the right way by getting a vaccine during a press call. When Brian Morgenstern was asked if the president is considering shaking up his appointees if he gets reelected, the White House deputy press secretary only said that the president and the task force have been leaving no stone unturned in a bid to end the pandemic from the time it started.

Their action, Morgenstern added, has assured that America will safely reopen after defeating the virus. While it remains to be seen whether or not Trump will be the next president for four more years, it looks like he is ready for a reset after months of the virus frightening voters and destroying the nation's economy.

When Trump refers to the virus on the trail, it is mostly on political terms, noting that Democratic nominee Joe Biden wants to shutter the country again, bring down the economy, while calling those who wear a mask as politically correct.
