Meghan Markle allegedly broke down in tears after her Hollywood dreams were crushed recently.

The Duchess of Sussex lent her voice for Disney Plus’s new documentary, “Elephants” earlier this month. However, Prince Harry’s wife received negative reviews for the project.

According to National Enquirer, critics branded Markle’s narration in “Elephant” as cheesy and schmaltzy.

Following the negative criticisms that she received, Markle allegedly expressed total disbelief that people could speak so lowly of what she thinks was an exceptional performance.

“This was to be Meghan’s triumphant return to Tinseltown – and she blew it! She only got the job after Harry made a shameless red-carpet pitch to then Disney CEO Bob Iger to get her voiceover work. Now, her ego is taking a beating and her dream of taking Tinseltown by storm has turned into a nightmare,” a source told the tabloid.

Markle used to work as an actress in Hollywood but she gave up her acting career shortly after she and Prince Harry started dating. The Duchess of Sussex starred in “Suits” until the end of Season 7.

Shortly after Markle tied and Prince Harry tied the knot, rumors swirled that the former actress regretted her decision to quit her acting job. And after the Sussexes announced their Megxit, reports suggested that Markle will return to acting in the coming months.

In July, the royal couple made headlines after Prince Harry seeming sold his wife to Iger. While at the “Lion King” premiere, the Duke of Sussex told Iger that Markle could do voiceover work for Disney.

Shortly after, Iger tapped Markle to voice the narrator in “Elephant.”

According to the source, Markle hated her life as a royal life so she thought that returning to Los Angeles could pave the way for more acting opportunities.

“She said she’d be a superstar and studios would line up with megabucks movie offers. Unfortunately, her dismal Disney debut just crushed that,” the source said.

As always, the claims made by the tabloid should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, Markle’s performance in “Elephant” received countless praise.

Last month, the charity Elephant Without Borders (EWB) praised Markle for sharing her knowledge and information on the subject matter to a global audience.

The charity also acknowledged the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s longstanding commitment to elephant conservation. The charity also vowed to help the royal couple in making sure that Africa’s natural heritage will be preserved.
