Kim Kardashian West shelled out a whopping $1 million to fly her friends and family members on a private jet for her 40th birthday celebration. The socialite took them to one of the world's most spectacular private islands in Tahiti.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star hired an 88-seat Boeing 777 last week to fly a group of under 30 people comprising close friends and family to The Brando, a lush private island resort with just 35 villas located in French Polynesia, Page Six had reported earlier this month.  She was accompanied by her sisters Kendall Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian, and brother Rob Kardashian and momager Kris Jenner.

They were treated to an impressive array of lavish dinners, along with spa visits and guided treks through the breathtaking island, which is locally known as Tetiaroa Atoll and is renowned for its beautiful blue lagoon. The group was restricted to Kim's family and closest friends,  source told Fox News.

Before leaving for the island on a private Boeing 777 in the night, everyone was repeatedly tested for CVOVID-19, the source added. As soon as they reached the island, they were treated to dinner after dinner, spas, and hikes through the nature sanctuary. In other words, there was no expense spared, the source added.

Kim banned everyone from posting pictures from her birthday celebration on social media in a bid to ensure her privacy. They left Los Angeles on Oct. 20, taking a Crystal Cruises’ Boeing 777-200LR, which has a bar, a restaurant, and 88 flatbeds.

Kim's family and friends took over the entire island, which boasts 35 one, two- and three-bedroom villas with private pools, and rent for about a staggering $20,000 a night, plus tax. The island is teeming with white sand beaches and features a stunning lagoon, where the KKW Beauty founder later captured some bikini pictures of herself and later posted them on Instagram.

Marlon Brando’s private island, known as the Brando Resort, is touted as one of the world's finest eco-friendly resorts. It features a vegetable garden, an organic fruit orchard, a luxurious spa, two hotel bars, and two gourmet restaurants. This elaborated trip, amid the still raging coronavirus pandemic, garnered strong criticism on social media.

Kim posted several pictures with her family and friends, including Tristan Thompson, Scott Disick, and La La Anthony, as they celebrated her birthday without wearing a mask. Moreover, her husband, Kanye West, was, reportedly, there too but remained absent from her pictures.

40 and feeling so humbled and blessed. There is not a single day that I take for granted, especially during these times when we are all reminded of the things that truly matter. For my birthday this year, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than with some of the people who have helped shaped me into the woman I am today. Before COVID, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment. After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time. We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40
