With Election Day just around the corner, President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden are leaving no stone unturned in their attempts to tear each other down. While both candidates have been taking jabs at one another, with Joe Biden slamming the president's handling of coronavirus pandemic and the president accusing him of being too soft on China, nothing seemed off-limits.

The New York Post obtained emails that raised questions about Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden's attempts to take advantage of the Biden name to pursue deals involving one of China's largest private energy companies. The obvious response from Trump would have been to cash in on this revelation and use it against his rival, who has been leading him in polls in several key states. Interestingly, that's not the case.

According to White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, Trump did not urge Attorney General Bill Barr to investigate the Bidens. While talking to reporters, McEnany said the president wants the media to look into these things because he thinks the media should be doing that at this time.

During an appearance on Fox & Friends, Trump said Barr needs to act, and act fast by appointing somebody. Insisting that the attorney general needs to act, the president described the situation as a major corruption, noting that America needs to know about this ahead of the impending election. McEnany, however, said the FBI and the Department of Justice would decide whether or not to investigate the Bidens.

In addition to Trump, a myriad of House Republicans including Andy Harris, Ted Yoho, Paul Gosar, and Andy Biggs wrote letters to Barr asking him to appoint a special counsel to investigate the matter. Some of these letters obtained by Fox News claim the revelations raise questions about Biden's involvement in Hunter's business and dealings, particularly if the former vice president received foreign monies while he was serving as the vice president in the Obama administration, and if he allowed his son to access his father with foreign companies.

The alleged emails suggest Hunter introduced the former veep to a top Burisma executive back in 2015. Just one year later, Biden allegedly urged the government to fire a prosecutor for launching an investigation into Burisma founder. Another email published by the Post hint at a business arrangement involving the Bidens and a Chinese company.

During the third debate, the Trump campaign invited Hunter Biden's former partner Tony Bobulinski as a guest. Bobulinski said that the email found on the laptop is genuine. Bobulinski will be sitting for an interview with the FBI on Friday.
