Meghan Markle’s character, Rachel Zane, got engaged and tied the knot with her onscreen partner Patrick J. Adams’ character, Mike, in Suits.

However, recent reports revealed that Markle wasn’t allowed to wear an engagement ring when she's no on set because she was already dating Prince Harry.

Markle’s on-screen dad, Wendell Pierce, revealed that there was a time when the Duchess of Sussex had a close call. After filming a scene from the hit series, Markle forgot to take off her faux engagement ring as she was getting out of the car.

Luckily, some staff members noticed and they urged her to take it off. Pierce said that Markle was reminded that a lot of cameras were waiting for her outside and seeing her with a ring might spark rumors that she’s engaged to Prince Harry.

Markle and Prince Harry started dating in 2016. Back then, the former actress was still part of Suits. But Markle was forced to give up her role in the series shortly after her relationship with Prince Harry gained traction.

And by the time that she and the Duke of Sussex got engaged, Markle was no longer part of Suits. Members of the royal family are banned from appearing on television shows and movies and they can’t also work as actors.

Meanwhile, Markle and Prince Harry got engaged in November 2017, and they tied the knot in May 2018. On their wedding day, Prince Charles walked Markle down the aisle because her dad didn’t attend the nuptials.

According to The Sun, Prince Charles has a framed photo of himself walking Markle down the aisle on her special day.

Daily Mail royal correspondent Rebecca English also confirmed the news during her visit to Prince Charles's office this week. While at Clarence House, she said that she noticed that Prince Charles still has a special photo on his desk.

But in the book Finding Freedom, it was revealed that one of the things that made Prince Harry upset with the royal family was when they didn’t include a photo of him and Markle during the queen’s Christmas broadcast.

Last year, the only framed photos featured in the Christmas broadcast were photos of the heirs to the throne, Kate Middleton, and Prince Philip. But two Christmases ago, photos of Prince Harry and Markle were featured in the broadcast.
