Prince Harry grew up knowing that he will never be king. In fact, at such a young age, he became aware that he’s the spare while Prince William is the heir.

But during a conversation on The Royal Beat, royal correspondent Duncan Larcombe said that it was somehow right for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to have quit The Firm this early on. If the Duke of Sussex didn’t, he’s reportedly doomed to fail.

After all, the outdated regal systems employed by the royal family don’t reportedly support royal spares. And the unnatural role of the royal spare is what could lead the monarchy into a disaster.

Just like Princess Margaret and Prince Andrew, Prince Harry’s role in the royal family hasn’t been clearly defined. The three royal spares reportedly grew up without knowing what they’re supposed to do and they were also kept in the dark.

And this has caused problems because there’s no official role for the royal spares. Duncan said that in most cases, they just have to watch their siblings become the monarch. And they’re there for support.

But most often than not, the royal spares turn out to have rebellious streaks because they don’t know their place in the monarchy. Princess Margaret had an affair with a married man while the queen was busy leading the monarchy.

Prince Andrew was accused of having sex with underage girls in the 90s. And he also became friends with the bad crowd like Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Prince Harry also rebelled while he was growing up. He smoked marijuana and spent a day at a rehab facility under Prince Charles’ strict orders. He also once faced backlash for wearing a Nazi costume at a party among many other things.

Before marrying Meghan Markle, Prince Harry also spent time at strip bars. However, Larcombe said that this isn’t really his fault because he and the other spares that came before him were stuck in their undefined roles.

In the end, Prince Andrew decided to step back from his royal duties. And Prince Harry just quit his job as a senior working royal earlier this year. It is also unclear if the Duke of York will ever return to the royal fold as a working royal because of the controversy he’s involved in.
