Kim Kardashian West participates in a big way with efforts to help the country of Armenia as it finds itself in conflict with the country of Azerbaijan. The celebrity announced that she would be donating $1 million to the fund aiding the country.

Variety reports that Kardashian West announced the donation to The Armenia Fund on her Instagram account. In the short video she uploaded, announcing the donation, she said that she talked with many people to bring more awareness to the conflict.

She also shared that her thoughts and prayers are with Armenia's citizens and that they are “one global Armenian nation” despite the distance that separates them. Kardashian West is part-Armenian, due to her late father, Robert Kardashian.

Fox News explains that The Armenia Fund is an organization that provides medical care, shelter, food, and other humanitarian relief to those in the midst of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The news outlet also points out that Kardashian West is not the only famous family member bringing awareness to the conflict. Kardashian West’s sister, Khloe, posted a black and white selfie on her Instagram account and said that the events had shattered her soul.

Like her sister, Kardashian called on her followers to support the fund by donating or raising awareness about the fund and the conflict on social media.

Another Kardashian sister, Kourtney, also posted on her Instagram account about the situation. The video is from her part in The Armenia Fund fundraising Livestream, and like her sisters, she called on her followers to either donate or raise awareness.

The past few months have seen several celebrities take part in even more charitable work, as a host of problems have besieged the world lately. For instance, the global coronavirus pandemic has pushed country legend Dolly Parton, to donate $1 million to research for a COVID-19 vaccine.

Parton announced the donation to the Vanderbilt Institute for Infection, Immunology, and Inflammation on her Instagram account, saying that the donation was also meant to inspire others to donate to research to find a vaccine COVID-19.

Pop megastars BTS have also made a million dollar donations to two different organizations. At the height of the protests against the murder of George Floyd, BTS, and their management company BigHit Entertainment made a $1 million donation to Black Lives Matter.

The group and their company also donated another $1 million to Crew Nation, a fund set up to support live concert crews worldwide that have lost their jobs due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
