Prince Charles was, allegedly, heartbroken after learning that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided to celebrate Christmas elsewhere.

According to New Idea, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will spend the holidays with David Foster and Katharine McPhee in the United States.

“With all this talk that Harry sees David as his North American dad and barely bothering to enter into conversation with Charles about coming home, it’s clear to one and all that Harry no longer sees the royals as his family – or, indeed, Charles as his father,” the source said.

Prince Harry and Markle will, allegedly, host a massive Christmas party at their house in Santa Barbara. And they have, allegedly, invited a slew of A-listers to attend the celebration.

“Meghan’s always loved entertaining, though it’s been taken to the next level now she’s a duchess with A-list mates. Harry’s looking forward to a day free of the shackles of the Queen’s exhaustive Christmas Day itinerary, from church to outfit changes and three rich meals per day, all with the kids stashed away in a separate part of Sandringham from their parents,” the source said.

The insider also said that Prince Harry is aware of the possible repercussions of his decision to not celebrate Christmas with the royal family again this year.

“Charles is a proud man, and Harry knows he’s offered far more olive branches than his dad would usually be willing to give. He doubts he’ll get an invite to private family events. He’s basically exiled at this point,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. There is still no confirmation that Prince Harry and Markle will really be celebrating Christmas with Foster and McPhee.

During an interview with Access Hollywood, McPhee said that her husband is like a father to Prince Harry. But this statement didn’t mean that the singer was trying to take the role of dad away from Prince Charles.

Rather, the American Idol alum simply means that Foster and Prince Harry are very close. And since the former is much older than the latter, the Duke of Sussex sees Foster as a father figure in his life.
