Katy Perry is mourning the loss of an important member of her family.

ET Online reports that the singer and expectant mother has lost her beloved cat, Kitty Purry. Fans of the singer will remember the cat as it has appeared in the video for 'I Kissed a Girl', the song that cemented Katy's rise to stardom. In an Instagram post, Katy shared a picture of Kitty Purry and wrote a short caption of how the came into her life.

"Kitty Purry crawled through my then-boyfriend's window 15 years ago, fully pregnant and seeking shelter," she writes. She further thanked the cat for its companionship for the last 15 years. This loss comes after Katy's grandmother Ann Pearl Hudson died in early March. As a tribute to her late grandmother, her daughter will carry her name.

It was early April when Katy revealed that she is pregnant with a girl. She will reportedly be giving birth by summer. This is her first pregnancy and first child with fiance Orlando Bloom. Bloom, meanwhile, has a son with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

The expectant parents are said to be doing everything to make sure that their home is ready for the arrival of their daughter. It seems that the quarantine has done well for Katy. Being a pop star, she has always had a packed schedule. She not only has concerts but also serves as a judge in 'American Idol' but even found time to be a guest judge on 'Masterchef Australia', where she reportedly got a six-figure salary, as reported by the Daily Mail.

But now, due to the lockdown of many countries, Katy is just spending time with her fiance and making sure she is not only healthy but staying active as well by hiking and doing yoga.

Amidst the quarantine, Perry says the next episodes of the reality TV show 'American Idol' will need to be very creative. She has also expressed her desire to perform.

Due to the quarantine, there have not been any new episodes that are filmed. Their last show was just a special episode that took a look at the top contestants. The next show will again be a special episode but it is unclear if it will just be footage that has been taped or if they are going to show new footage or even give a live show to their viewers from all over the world.
