Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many scheduled events are being canceled, including sporting events, world tours, and concerts. The latest artist to cancel her event is none other than superstar singer Taylor Swift.

Vulture reports that Taylor will be canceling all her performances for the year 2020. The singer took to her Twitter account to convey her sadness at not being able to do the events. But she says that this is the right decision to do in light of the pandemic. She urges everyone to stay safe and stay inside their homes and promises that she will see them on stage again in the future.

The singer stated in her post that Brazil and the US shows for this year will be moved to 2021. They have not yet given a date for the rescheduled concerts. Those who were looking forward to her US Lover Fest shows will have to wait just a little bit more. But if they wish to refund their tickets, they may do starting May.

The New York Post says that the Lover Fest West was supposed to be held on the 25th and 26th of July at the SoFi stadium. There was another Lover Fest that was going to be held at Massachusetts at the Gillette Stadium.

Swift is not the first artist to cancel her planned tours due to the coronavirus pandemic. Other artists that have had to cancel their concerts include Shania Twain, Michael Buble, and Justin Bieber. The Coachella Festival which was to be held this April was also rescheduled to October.

Other events that were canceled include the San Diego Comicon. All over the world, events have had to be moved, including sporting events like the Wimbledon and the French Open. Perhaps the biggest of all is the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which will be moved to next year.

But despite not pushing through with their concerts, many celebrities have found a way to still share their artistry with the world. Many singers have participated in virtual concerts.

The concerts were held not just for entertainment but also to raise funds for the pandemic. The at-home concerts were also done to give tribute to the frontline health workers who are helping to battle the pandemic all over the world.

As of today, the numbers of those infected with the virus are not more than 2 million. Of that number, over 150,00. have died. The US continues to have the most number of positive cases at more than 700,000.
