The South Korean boy band, BTS has recently rolled out one of the most energetic songs of the year in the form of Dynamite. The song proved to be a mind-blowing hit topping multiple regional and international charts across the globe.

BTS might have overtaken their lady counterpart in terms of YouTube records, but Blackpink undoubtedly has it’s own league which is second to none.

That also brings us to why and how the two South Korean music phenoms have taken over the top 10 of Billboard’s New Global 200 charts.

Of late, Billboard added to its line-up two new charts - Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl the US – and the inaugural list of the charts show that the K-pop boy band and girl band are totally dominating it.

Blackpink has bagged the eight position in Billboard Global 200 which was first announced on Monday, Setp.14, for Ice Cream with Selena Gomez. On the other hand, for the Billboard Global Excl US chart, Blackpink is slightly higher as compared with Global 200 - gracing the position sixth of the top 10 list.

Coming to BTS, the Global 200 includes BTS' energy booster Dynamite gracing the second position following Cardi B's WAP which is reigning the list. According to Billboard official website, Dynamite stands at second with a whopping 83.4 million streams and 36,000 sold.

Moving on to the inaugural Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, BTS one more time stands at second rank with Dynamite boasting 70.9 million streams and 15,000 sold. The number one position currently belongs to Maluma's summer song Hawái.

It’s no wonder, BTS and Blackpink have totally nailed it! Other songs and singers that have made to the top of the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl US lists include 24kGoldn's Mood at numbers three and four, Maluma's Hawái at numbers four and one, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's WAP at numbers one and three respectively.

It is recently that the South Korean pop bands came to the broader limelight, however, it seems that their career has been geared up to another level where the expectations of fans don’t go downhill. It’s truly wonderful that their talent gets the platform to be showcased and recognition that it deserves through Billboards and likes of the same.

Silvio Pietroluongo, Billboard senior VP, Charts & Data Development, highlighted the same in a statement saying, "Billboard and MRC Data are proud to present charts that are reflective of a world view and we are committed to the continued expansion of territories.”
