The royal family has an extremely high-pressure job, with the numerous obligations they have to attend to, its only normal that the family chooses to live in different castles and estates. It has been long wondered how the Queen and Prince Philip’s living situation goes, many believe that due to the couple’s traditional ways, they don’t share the same bed, even when they were young.

According to sources, this might be true after all. Prince Philip is said to prefer to live away from the Buckingham Palace and to leave the Queen to do her work.

The Duke of Edinburgh, who is now 99 years of age will celebrate his centennial birthday next year, and according to people close to Prince, he has been living in Sandringham Palace for quite a while now.

The Queen, on the other hand, stays in Buckingham Palace.

The two royals have been isolating with each other since lockdown rules were imposed. They first stayed in Windsor Castle, where they both spent the bulk of the lockdown in.

Currently, the Queen and Prince Philip are in Balmoral, their Scottish home. The tradition of the royal family to go to Balmoral for the summer holidays was one thing that the Queen did not want to miss.

Other royal family members joined the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in Balmoral but had been limited in time.

Prince Philip, who has retired since 2017 has been living a peaceful life. The Duke was said to have chosen Sandringham as his retirement home, away from the busy Buckingham.

The Prince is said to enjoy his time reading, painting and entertaining friends. The Prince has only visited the Queen in Buckingham a handful of times since his retirement.

The Queen and Prince Philip’s Balmoral stay has been unfortunately cut short, which has led many people to believe that the Queen’s health is declining.

An update by the Palace stated that the Queen will be returning to Sandringham earlier than expected and will not be returning to Buckingham Palace anytime soon. This revelation further fueled the rumors of Prince Charles’ coronation.

Prince Charles has been taking over his mother’s obligations and has resumed face to face engagements. He and his wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles are back in London in Clarence House and are the first royal to go back to their royal duties.

Other royal family members have yet to return to London, with Kate and William projected to be the second royal family branch to return.
