Reports have emerged that Prince Harry is feeling lost and could be following his dad’s footsteps. It is being said that Prince Charles also felt “lost” when he left the military.

Harry and Meghan Markle have shifted to Los Angeles. California after they took a shocking decision to separate themselves from royal duties in January this year. The duo had to also give up their brand name Sussex Royal after relinquishing their royal duties.

Several critics are concerned that the Duke of Sussex has a tough time ahead to get adequate work to keep him engaged while being away from his royal life. However, it appears that Harry is not the only member of the Royal Family who has raised such concerns.

Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne and his father, had also caused similar concerns in the past. Back in the seventies, Charles found himself in a similar dilemma as his younger son.

In December 2005, it was reported that the heir to the throne felt lost and purposeless after he decided to move on from the Royal Navy. It was explained by the writer Bob Colacello that Charles decided on his departure after spending six years in the Navy.

The remainder of that decade was spent by him in pursuit of a meaningful role in his life. The same article remembered one of Charles’ famous speeches in 1978.

The prince had added that at that moment he did not have any role. However, he also said, “But somehow, I must find one.” The incident has an uncanny similarity to a statement released by the Duke of Sussex in 2015. He had made the statement after leaving the Army and serving it for 10 years, Express reports.

Prince Harry had stated that it was a “really tough decision” for him to leave the military and he was at “crossroads.” In the past, Buckingham Palace was allegedly worried about what meaningful role to assign to Prince Charles after he had departed from the Royal Navy.

Meanwhile, Telegraph.co.uk reports that the Duke of Sussex is prohibited from putting on his military uniform after he decided to relinquish his Armed Forces appointments. While retired service staff is allowed to wear their medals, they are not permitted to wear their uniform at official engagements after leaving the military.

Prince Harry got commissioned in the year 2006 but left the Army five years ago. He was referred to as “Captain Wales” in the Army. He has to give up the military appointments according to the terms of his deal to quit royal duties.
