Even with the global coronavirus pandemic still very much a concern for most of the world, the film and entertainment industry are finding ways to move forward and resume productions in the new normal. The latest to do so are hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, who head back to the studio of their talk show next month.

People reports that Ripa and Seacret will start filming their talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan in their New York studio without an audience starting this September. Before the announcement, the show had been broadcasting remotely since March because of the global coronavirus pandemic.

While Live with kelly and Ryan’s first September episode will be shot outside with celebrity guests Hillary Swank and Brett Eldredge, the following episode will be in the studio and will kick-off a month of shows focusing on giving advice and “how-tos” to viewers stuck at home.

The month of September will also see a number of celebrity guests visit the talk show, such as Bethenny Frankel, Tyra Banks, Jimmy Kimmel, Jessica Alba, and John Leguizamo. The show will also debut a new version of their daily trivia game. This time around, participating trivia dancers will be showcasing their moves from home.

The Daily Mail quotes Seacrest as saying that during the five months that they have been filming remotely, he has grown to love the interactions they have had, such as sharing stories with each other before and during the show.

Ripa, for her part, said that she had gotten used to the more casual attire of their remote broadcasts that she joked she may not want to return to the studio if it means having to dress in pants or bottoms.

Aside from Live with Kelly and Ripa, other talk shows that are set to return or have returned to the studio include NBC’s Today and The Wendy Williams Show.

Talk shows going back to the studio is certainly an easier thing to coordinate, unlike huge international events like the Berlin Film Festival, which is holding a physical version in 2021. According to organizers, they will be abiding by all the health and safety protocols the German government will impose.

The film festival has also come up with a hybrid physical and virtual event for the European Film Market so that executives abroad that cannot travel to Germany can still take part in the festival and sell their films.

Ripa and Seacrest will be returning to the studio even as the United States is still grappling with the global coronavirus pandemic. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Aug. 26 update, the United States has 5,752,653 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The number of people that have died from COVID-19 in the United States is now at 177,759 people.
