Meghan Markle has been growing her black hair for months. And a source claimed that there could be a deeper reason why this is the case.

While speaking with The Telegraph, Markle’s former hairdresser George Northwood said that there’s a symbolic meaning behind the former royal’s hair.

He said that the Duchess of Sussex is trying to make a statement with her hair because it represents strength and her ability to sort things out.

“This straighter, longer hairstyle marks a new chapter in her life without such strict protocols,” he said.

Northwood was the one that styled Markle’s hair while she was still a senior working member of the royal family. He said that the Duchess of Sussex’s hairstyle back then was more polished and smart-looking.

More specifically, the hairdresser went for a more undone look to balance out the royal family’s formal dress code. As such, Markle’s messy bun because of her signature hairstyle as a member of the royal family.

“Whereas now, she can take a more relaxed approach to how she dresses, therefore this sleeker blow-dried hairstyle works beautifully - it's casual but still polished and appropriate for her new life,” he said.

While speaking with Grazia, Northwood said that he hopes to be able to style Markle’s hair again when she returns to the United Kingdom.

The hairdresser’s stamen amid reports that Markle and Prince Harry could return to the UK in the coming months. According to Finding Freedom author, Omid Scobie four of Markle’s patronages are in the United Kingdom.

As such, she has a lot of reasons to return to Prince Harry’s hometown. However, it is unclear if their future trips to the UK would mean also visiting the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit The Firm in January amid the nonstop bullying and criticisms they have received from the public.

In his statement, Prince Harry also said that they were quitting because they want to be more financially independent from the royal family.

However, they’re now being criticized amid reports that Prince Charles actually shouldered a chunk of the royal couple’s mortgage. But a source told Us Weekly that this wasn’t the case.

Prince Harry refused to ask Prince Charles for help in buying his and Markle’s Santa Barbara home.
