Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a mistake by sharing the name of their nonprofit organization at an inappropriate time, according to their critics.

It was only a few days ago when Harry and Markle announced the name of their new foundation to the world. The couple claimed that their plan has already got delayed amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, critics slammed the timing of their announcement.

The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex’s announcement caused a massive uproar in some quarters. A royal commentator called Richard Fitzwilliams said that the couple’s move hardly had any relevance in the current circumstances.

Meanwhile, the editor of The Conservative Woman Kathie Gyngell also shared her feelings on Twitter. She feels that the couple should have waited for some time. Gyngell opines that their timing is highly inappropriate.

David Haigh, the former MD of Leeds United Football Club and eminent human rights lawyer tweeted, "Bad timing,” while referring to the couple’s announcement.

It was just recently that Harry and his wife were told to stop using their former brand called the Sussex Royal. The couple interacted with the Daily Telegraph and told the publication that they were keen to start working for their not-for-profit organization, which they have decided to name Archewell.

There have been reports that the couple filed their paperwork in America last month. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aim to create a non-profit enterprise that will feature a multimedia educational empire, a well-being website, and emotional support groups.

While their intention could be noble, the couple made many mistakes while declaring the news of their new enterprise. For instance, when some netizens tried to search for their foundation online, they were redirected to the “Gold Digger” video of rapper Kanye West on YouTube.

It made some of them wonder whether the Duke and the Duchess are yet to register the domain name or the website was hacked or not. Phil Dampier, a royal biographer also feels that the timing to launch their new charity organization is not right.

According to Daily Mail, Dampier told them: “If I were Harry and Meghan I would have laid low until this situation (coronavirus) was over.” Incidentally, the couple’s decision came at a point when Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister was admitted to the ICU after his condition deteriorated. Johnson is suffering from COVID-19 and is still in the hospital.

An online user said that the timing for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s announcement was not sensible. Also, it made them look detached from the stark reality and struggles of other people.
