Singer Gloria Estefan spoke about Naya Rivera's death. Estefan worked with Rivera on a musical drama Glee. After the sudden death of Rivera due to boating in California, the 62-year-old who portrayed Rivera's mother, Maribel Lopez in the series opened up.

Rivera portrayed Santana Lopez for the comedy series which Estefan recalled. The singer and actress admitted that the loss was extremely brutal for everyone to process. Estefan spoke with Nischelle Turner as she promoted her upcoming album called Brazil305.

Estefan said that Rivera, 33 was a nice and warm person. She told that Rivera was nothing but a triple threat as she was a lovely girl. While Estefan prayed for her family, she also noted how to reel life scenarios turned into real life.

Estefan pointed out that it is interesting that she portrayed her mother's character on the show and later Santana came out. Surprisingly, her real-life daughter, Emily also came out in real life. Somehow, Estefan found the entire lesbian thing happening in reel and real-life mind-boggling.

Estefan further revealed how she felt when she heard about Rivera's news for the first time. The co-star told that since Rivera went missing, she had made some positive explanations and hoped that she will be back.

“I'm a boater. I've been on a boat with my small child and I was hoping maybe she'd gotten them up on the boat then somehow been caught up in the current and made it to shore. I was inventing all these scenarios that could have been,” Estefan explained.

However, she admitted that when the mother is aware of the fact that her child is all by himself on the boat, it didn't seem to be favorable. Estefan continued to explain how much her heart wrenched as she saw Rivera's mother kneeling at the lake.

The Rhythm Is Gonna Get You singer said that the feeling was terrible to watch. While Estefan is heartbroken with the uncalled tragic incident, she sent best wishes to another popular celebrity, Simon Cowell.

Recently, Cowell had a major accident on an electric bike that led him to place a metal rod through the surgery in his back. Estefan recalled she had gone through a similar surgery in 1990 after a tour bus accident. Considering her own experience with major surgery, she told that it will take a while for Cowell to recover because of the rods in the body.
