Rose McGowan is the first-ever celebrity who started the #MeToo movement and accused a big name in the industry. The actress went on the public to call out Harvey Weinstein for sexually abusing her. Now, the actress opened up about Alexander Payne.

According to McGowan, the Oscar-winning director exploited her sexually when she was a teenager. The 46-year-old actress took Twitter on Aug. 17 to reveal details about sexual misconduct that took place when she was 15-year-old.

"Alexander Payne. You sat me down & played a soft-core porn movie you directed for Showtime under a different name. I still remember your apartment in Silverlake. You are very well-endowed. You left me on a street corner afterward. I was 15," she tweeted.

Following the text tweet, she posted another tweet that featured an old picture of her when she was 15. She wrote along with the picture that she needs acknowledgment. She also asked for an apology from the filmmaker and said that she doesn't wish to destroy anyone.

The 59-year-old director's representative was reached out for comment but didn't receive any response so far. The filmmaker is responsible for films such as The Descendants, The Passion of Martin, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry to name a few.

McGowan has grown into a solid voice for the #MeToo movement and following her footsteps, many women came forward against producer Weinstein. The 68-year-old producer was accused of sexual misconduct dozens of time and as per the New York Times, he paid a settlement amount of $100,000.

The incident took place in 1997 in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival. The Conan the Barbarian star said that Weinstein raped her. However, Weinstein tried to turn down the allegations but eventually got convicted based on assault and rape charges.

As per The Cut, McGowan opened up in 2018 at New York's 92nd Street Y regarding the sexual abuse. She told that a prominent figure in the industry had used her physically after showing an adult movie that was shot Showtime. Eventually, she was left alone at a street corner beside a Tropical.

The journalist who took this interview for The Cut named Ronan Farrow confirmed that off the camera the actress did reveal the name of that prominent figure. However, Farrow said that she kept the identity secret until she was mentally prepared to disclose in public. People are eagerly waiting for the filmmaker to disclose his version of the story.
