Michelle Obama has talked about Meghan Markle on a number of occasions.

Last year, she called the Duchess of Sussex her friend and said that Prince Harry’s wife is also a thoughtful leader. Obama shared her thoughts about Markle via her Instagram account last year, after the latter attended a reception for Young People at the Residence of the British High Commissioner in Cape Town.

In her lengthy post, the former first lady also said that Markle is an inspiration to a lot of people.

According to Express, Barack Obama’s wife has been advising Markle on a lot of things. Last year, the ex-FLOTUS told Markle that there’s no prescribed path before she agreed to guest edit for Vogue.

The Evening Standard also said that Markle and Obama share an obvious similarity through their respective husbands. Both women have questioned the scrutiny that their husbands’ jobs bring.

Obama has been very vocal about her real thoughts on Barack running for president. She said that she didn’t initially want her husband to run for office.

Other than the fact that Barack would be required to stay away from home, Obama also felt that there were other ways he could leave an impact in the world.

During her interview with Good Housekeeping, Obama referenced Markle. She said that the Suits alum never dreamt she would have a life like this just like her. As such, the pressure can sometimes feel a lot.

“So, my biggest advice would be to take some time and don't be in a hurry to do anything,” the former first lady told Markle.

However, it seems that Prince Harry’s wife didn’t listen to what the ex-FLOTUS said. After just two years, Markle decided to quit The Firm alongside Prince Harry.

In their statement, the royal couple said that one of the reasons why they quit is for them to be financially independent of the royal family. Prince Harry also said that he could no longer take the breaches in privacy and the rude criticisms they were receiving.

Before their bombshell exit, Prince Harry and Markle filed lawsuits against British tabloids that have been publishing dubious claims about them. They also filed a lawsuit against Daily Mail for published Markle’s handwritten letters to her dad, Thomas M.
