Touted as one of the hottest Hollywood celebs, Jennifer Aniston has been in the public eye, specifically for her marriage to the equally hot Brad Pitt. While their marriage was portrayed to be nothing short of flawless, the Friends star said the unrealistic image was created by the media.

Aniston deviated her focus to doing more films after the iconic sitcom Friends went off the air and it takes too long for the talented actress to establish herself as a box office draw. After tieing the wedding knot with Brad Pitt in 2000, Aniston divorced the Thelma & Louise star five years later after his alleged affair with Angelina Jolie, whom he married in Aug. 2014, and later divorced citing irreconcilable differences.

After her divorce from Pitt, Aniston opened up about the out-of-this-world image of the couple presented by the paparazzi. Aniston and Pitt were set up by their agents back in 1998, according to Good Morning America. The budding romance of the two established celebrities became common on tabloid covers.

They got engaged in 1999 and headed down the aisle a year later in 2000. The pair was awarded Hollywood’s golden couple title citing their allegedly perfect marriage. After Pitt landed the lead role in Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2005, the rumor mill began churning out speculations of infidelity, leading to his break up from Aniston the same year.

Pitt publicly announced his relationship with Jolie following his breakup with Aniston, but they were sought after by paparazzi even after divorce. The seemingly perfect couple's split after a dreamy engagement and wedding was understandably a shock for fans. Before the couple's relationship was publicized, Aniston said her relationship with Pitt was nothing short of perfect.

In an interview with Variety in 2005, Aniston said she and Pitt had a lot of fun falling in love and their relationship was private. The former couple fancied keeping their relationship to themselves for a long time and were proud of it, but everything ruined after the paparazzi came into the picture.

Aniston admitted that she couldn't live up to the flawless image that the media portrayed the pair. Despite being a couple like everybody else, the Marley & Me star said they were put on a pedestal. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2005, Aniston said opened up about people being obsessed about her marriage and then the divorce.

Aniston noted that fans compared their relationship to the golden couple, meaning if it didn't work out, she felt she was in trouble. She called out the media for making this unrealistic facade, noting that it wasn't real. She said they are human beings, having human experiences and the only difference is that they are exposed to the public eye.
