Prince William has been dubbed as the “king of hearts” for letting his guard down especially when he’s around his three children.

Earlier this month, the doting dad visited a family-owned bakeshop called Smiths The Baker close to King’s Lynn. During his trip to the store, Prince William couldn’t help but talk about Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

He said that since his children are being homeschooled due to the coronavirus pandemic, they are spending more time in the kitchen. Prince William also said that there’s been an explosion of flour and chocolate everywhere.

Before leaving Smiths The Baker, Kate Middleton’s husband asked if the bakeshop was selling any pain au chocolat. He said that his children asked him to bring the treat home.

“I can’t come in here and not buy anything, so have you got any pain au chocolat at all? My children will not talk to me if I turn up without enough,” he adorably said.

Last week, Prince William and Middleton also shared adorable photos of Prince William with his children to commemorate Father’s Day and the future king’s birthday.

In the snaps, the Duke of Cambridge is playing with his three kids on the grass. A second photo shows the Cambridges posing on a swing at Anmer Hall that was reportedly gifted to them by Prince Charles on their wedding day.

Even before the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared the adorable photos, royal author Katie Nicholl already told Entertainment Tonight that the family has been letting their guard down.

Years ago, there was an impression that members of the royal family are always serious regardless if they are at home or at work. When Queen Elizabeth’s children were still young, she used to shake their hands instead of giving them a hug.

But the more modern royals like Prince William and Middleton have been very affectionate towards their kids. They usually hold hands with them, and they don’t also shy away from hugging them in public.

Nicholl said that what Prince William and Middleton have been doing is uplifting Britain. The royal couple is also able to give their supporters an idea of what the future of the monarchy would look like.

“The royal family has gone to great lengths not to be seen too aloof or distant or unrelatable,” Nicholl said.
