In a revelation about his strained relationship with his older brother, Prince Harry discussed a unique communicative code used between them during an interview following the release of his memoir, 'Spare.' Harry described how Prince William's use of this code during their grandfather, Prince Philip's funeral left him feeling unconvinced.

The memoir comes in the wake of Harry and his wife Meghan Markle's departure from royal responsibilities and their relocation to California. Within its pages, Harry chronicles his escalating tensions with Prince William, stemming from perceived warnings about Meghan which ultimately led to a heated confrontation in 2019.

When Prince Philip passed away in 2021, Harry and William had barely interacted due to the geographical and emotional distances between them. However, the funeral marked a rare reunion, publicly depicted in photos of the brothers walking together during the ceremony.

In a conversation with ITV's Tom Bradby, Harry disclosed a special code that the brothers used in situations where urgent attention was required. According to Harry, William attempted to use this code to initiate a private discussion during the funeral. Harry recounts William saying, "Harold you must listen to me, I just want you to be happy, Harold, I swear, I swear on mummy’s life."

While the phrase was intended to command attention, Harry confessed, "It stopped me cold, as it was meant to...Not because he'd used it, but because it didn’t work. I simply didn’t believe him."

According to recent reports by The Mirror, Meghan Markle has consistently taken the discord between her husband and his brother seriously. This was notably evident in 2018 at the Make a Difference Together forum in London, where Meghan, along with William and his wife Kate Middleton, represented the Royal Foundation. Body language expert Judi James commented that Meghan's behavior hinted at her awareness of serious disagreements between the brothers.

This unseen tension behind the royal smiles during the gathering of the once dubbed 'fab four' brings to mind comparisons to Prince Charles and Diana's engagement interview, where Charles' infamous phrase 'Whatever in love means' hinted at future conflict. As per James, "This telling footage... shows powerful body language signs of future conflict and relationship splits."

Since the release of Harry's memoir, the brothers reportedly have not spoken and only shared a brief moment during the King's Coronation this month, underscoring the continued strain between them.
