Donald Trump Jr. disclosed on a recent podcast episode that his father, former President Donald Trump, had some constructive criticism to share regarding his mannerisms on his own podcast. The younger Trump confessed that his father suggested a decrease in the use of hand gestures while speaking.

During the May 17 episode of Tim Pool’s podcast, Timcast IRL, Trump Jr. relayed his father's feedback. "He called me, he's like, 'I saw the podcast content — a lot less hands. A lot less hands, Don'," he said. The former president's advice was received with humor by Trump Jr., who noted his father's own tendency to speak with expressive hand movements. "You know, you get thrown out of the window of Trump Tower if you're low energy in my family," he added.

The podcast's hosts playfully referred to Trump Sr. as the "King of the hand gestures," a title Trump Jr. agreed with. The younger Trump also shared that his father had previously suggested he tone down his Twitter activity during his presidency, drawing a parallel to an '80s anti-drug PSA: "It’s like that '80s drunk commercial. Like, ‘I learned it by watching you Dad.'"

Despite these humorous anecdotes, Trump Jr. maintained his respect for his father's expertise, stating, "Like I will listen to him on many things if he’s got business advice, political...the guy’s done a lot. He’s accomplished a lot."

However, Trump Jr. also admitted that he refrains from imitating his father, out of both respect and a sense of self-preservation. "I don’t do the Trump impression. I don’t make fun of hair because maybe the Trump hair gene kicks in one day. So I’m like, I’m just not gonna play with it."

Throughout his father's presidency and after, Trump Jr. has stood staunchly by his father's side, even when it led to impassioned outbursts. Referring to his father's legal issues involving Stormy Daniels, he remarked, "it’s so flagrant, it’s so crazed...it’s 100 percent based on politics." His fervent defense further illustrates the strong bond and similar traits shared between father and son.
