Prince Philip’s uncle, Dickie Mountbatten reportedly had secrets when he was still alive.

While doing his research on Dickie and Edwina Mountbatten, researcher Andrew Lownie learned that the couple was involved in some of the biggest scandals of their time.

Dickie was allegedly the one that engineered Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s relationship. And FBI records revealed that Prince Philip’s uncle had a reputation for allegedly sexually abusing young boys. And he was also accused of pedophilia.

Lownie also claimed that Dickie and his wife both had multiple affairs. Dickie was also linked to actress Shirley MacLaine and his wife was linked to Charlie Chaplin.

However, the couple’s extramarital affairs didn’t become public to protect their two daughters.

The researcher claimed that several high-profile individuals sucked up to Dickie and his wife because of their connections to the royal family.

According to Lownie, Dickie also had a dangerous sense of entitlement that was very similar to how Prince Andrew is. The Duke of York is also embroiled in a sexual abuse scandal together with the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Meanwhile, Prince Philip also made headlines this week just days before his 99th birthday. Prince Charles said that he’s been video calling his loved ones but he’s sad that he won’t be able to see Prince Philip on his birthday.

Prince Charles also said that he has been missing his grandchildren, who are currently isolating in Los Angeles and Anmer Hall.

In 2017, Prince Edward also opened up about Prince Philip’s life after his retirement. He said that the Duke of Edinburgh won’t completely disappear after his retirement. But he will most likely be able to do more of what he enjoys.

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Prince Philip has been staying at Sandringham since his retirement. But he was transported to Windsor Castle in March amid fears that he could get infected with the deadly virus.

The pandemic resulted in Prince Philip and the queen spending more time together. After all, Her Majesty has also been self-isolating at Windsor Castle since March.

Her Majesty’s royal engagements for the next couple of months have either been canceled or postponed. As of late, it is still unclear when the queen can make public appearances.

There are reports that she may no longer perform her royal duties in person since she is also susceptible to COVID-19. The monarch turned 94 years old in April.
