Gunter Nezhoda, known for his appearances on the popular A&E show "Storage Wars," has passed away at the age of 67 after a six-month battle with lung cancer. His son, Rene Nezhoda, confirmed the news to TMZ, stating that Gunter died in his sleep on Tuesday night.

Rene revealed that his father was diagnosed with lung cancer in September after being a smoker for over 30 years. The chemotherapy treatment led to holes in Gunter's lungs, prompting him to travel to Utah for emergency surgery. Sadly, doctors informed the family that there was nothing more they could do.

In a heartfelt video shared with TMZ, Rene said, "Today is a very sad day, and this is a very hard video for me to make, I’ve made this video many times already. I’m just going to say it the way I say it." He continued, "My dad was one of the guys on ‘Storage Wars’ that never really got any hate, people just loved him and being around him, including the crew."

Rene expressed his gratitude for the support and love shown to his father, who appeared in seven episodes of "Storage Wars" between 2015 and 2019. Gunter had recently filmed an episode for the show's upcoming 14th season.

Born in Austria and raised in Germany before moving to Las Vegas, Gunter Nezhoda was also a professional photographer, working with well-known companies such as Ford, Microsoft, and Big-O Tires. His photographs have been published in magazines and advertisements. In addition to his reality TV work, Gunter was an accomplished bass player, performing with musicians like Kevin Dubrow, George Lynch, Michael Schenker, Pat Travers, and Leslie West.

Gunter's youngest son, Ricky, was with him when he passed away in Salt Lake City. Rene concluded the emotional video by saying, "And so hopefully he’s up there in heaven with my mom, dancing again with no more pain.” He thanked everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
