Gigi Hadid is sharing an insight into her role as a mother to her 2-year-old daughter, whom she shares with her former partner, Zayn Malik.

Citing the conversation she recently had with The Sunday Times, published Sunday, People said the 27-year-old model opened up about motherhood in one part of the exchange. As noted, she expressed how “glad” she is and a “blessing” it is to have her daughter at the time she did.

Hadid is said to have shared in the interview that she “always wanted to be a mom.” She noted, however, that she “was never obsessive about it or [thought that] I was put on this Earth to be a mom.”

The model continued, “I’ve always been quite organized, so having Khai at the time that I did was a blessing,” before saying, “I’m so glad to be a young mom,” as per the magazine.

Gigi Hadid officially became a mother in September 2020.

She and Zayn Malik welcomed their first child together, with E! News sharing at the time that the model and the baby were doing well.

The outlet also noted then that the “Let Me” singer shared the news of their baby’s arrival on social media, letting his fans and followers know that their daughter was “here, healthy & beautiful.”

Malik is also said to have written in the same post that he was “grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together.”

About a year after having their first child, though, the two personalities broke up and have since gone their separate ways.

At the time, Entertainment Tonight learned from a source that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik had been amicably working together to figure out co-parenting matters following the split, adding that their child is their top priority.

The model and the singer were in an on-and-off relationship for years. They began dating after he asked her out in late 2015, as per Us Weekly.

Elsewhere in the report from People, published Sunday, it said Hadid also discussed how she and her former partner navigate co-parenting together more than a year after their split.

The model is said to have explained in the exchange that she and Zayn Malik do it by “keeping the importance of the child’s happiness at the forefront.”

Gigi Hadid revealed, as well, that she tries scheduling her work commitments when their daughter “is with her dad,” before adding, “That she can be with both parents makes me very happy,” as per the magazine.
