Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are breaking their silence regarding the reports about King Charles III requesting them to leave Frogmore Cottage.

A spokesperson for the former working royals spoke to People and confirmed the matter, saying, “We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”

Frogmore Cottage is the U.K. residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, with reports noting that they were given use of the property on the grounds of Windsor by Queen Elizabeth II following their wedding in 2018.

The couple, who share two children, relocated from Nottingham Cottage, on the grounds of Kensington Palace, to Frogmore Cottage before welcoming their first-born son in 2019.

Despite stepping down as working members of the British Royal Family and relocating to the United States in 2020, Frogmore Cottage has remained their residence in the United Kingdom.

However, Buckingham Palace reportedly issued an eviction notice to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Sun US reported that King Charles III began the process of eviction after his youngest son released his highly anticipated memoir, “Spare,” earlier in January.

Speaking to the outlet, an insider claimed that “this eviction surely spells the end” of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s time in the United Kingdom.

Also, it is stated that the former working royals “are powerless to stop the eviction.”

Meanwhile, the British Monarch allegedly plans to move Prince Andrew from his Royal Lodge mansion to Frogmore Cottage.

But, the same source told the outlet, which published the claims on Tuesday, that the Queen’s second son is “resisting the idea” following the offer, reportedly made last week.

Following the reports, a royal expert spoke to Page Six and expressed how the matter did not come as a surprise.

Speaking to the publication, Tom Bower, who penned “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors,” stated that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “provoked” King Charles III with “Spare,” alongside “the interviews he gave.”

The expert continued in the exchange, rhetorically asking, “I mean what did he expect?,” before saying, “Harry wanted the royal family to come on bended knee begging for forgiveness and he’s completely crossed the spectrum, he’s in the mad wilderness of deranged victimhood.”

On Tuesday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had an outing, with Page Six noting that the outing came hours after news broke that they were asked to leave Frogmore Cottage.

Eyewitnesses spotted the former working royals arriving at San Vicente Bungalows, in Los Angeles, as per the publication, which also shared photos it obtained from the sighting.
