Jessica Chastain is deeming her fall on stage not “so bad” despite feeling embarrassed.

People said the 45-year-old actress revealed some of her thoughts about her recent fall at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2023. As noted, she looked on the bright side of the incident, even saying it “wasn’t so bad” after all.

Chastain stated in the exchange with the outlet that she was “a little embarrassed” by her stumble when she took the stage to accept her award during the awards show.

But, despite tripping on the stairs, the “Interstellar” actress noted that she “had two very handsome men helping me up,” leading her to conclude and quip that “that wasn’t so bad.”

In the end, she shared that she is “just so over the moon and happy,” adding that she “can’t believe” she won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie.

On Sunday night, Jessica Chastain tripped on her fuchsia dress as she walked up to the stage to accept her win for this year’s SAG Awards.

She obtained the feat for her role as Tammy Wynette in Showtime’s “George & Tammy.”

Following her brief fall on stage, Chastain was helped up the stairs by Paul Mescal and a few other individuals before taking her award and giving her acceptance speech, according to Page Six.

Meanwhile, the “Zero Dark Thirty” actress shared similar thoughts about her fall with Entertainment Tonight.

Speaking to the publication, Jessica Chastain reiterated that she “fell on the stairs” before accepting her award on stage. But, she said it is “good because some people didn’t know that I did.”

The actress subsequently pointed fingers at her dress that night, saying, “I was trapped in my dress,” causing her to trip. Even so, she noted that she “had very nice men helping me,” before adding that “that was a plus.”

As for her win at this year’s SAG Awards, the actress told the outlet that she is “the one who never expects this is going to happen.”

Elsewhere in the exchange with People, published Sunday, Jessica Chastain revealed that the Screen Actors Guild Awards is her “favorite” event of awards season.

She explained to the magazine that it is “because my favorite part about being an actor is that I get to be around other actors.”

Chastain continued that she knows it sounds “a bit silly,” but she said she “was the little kid at home watching all these shows and recording the Tonys to watch back, and I was so obsessed with this industry and what people got to do and wanting to be a part of it.”

In the end, she added, “And so I kinda feel a little bit like I snuck in, and it means a lot to me.”
