Hugh Jackman has allegedly spent most of his time at the gym to bulk up in preparation for his return as Wolverine.

In its Jan. 23 issue, New Idea claimed that Jackman’s sudden obsession with bulking up is causing his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness to worry.

“Hugh’s set to be put through the wringer, that’s for sure. He was still in his forties the last time he played Wolverine, but now he’s creeping closer to 60. It’s easy to understand why Deb might be concerned this time around. She has no problem playing a gym widow to Hugh’s intense workout routine for the next six months, but she does think about the toll it’s going to take on him,” the source said.

The source also claimed that Furness has always been proud of Jackman’s acting career and achievements. And she also happens to be her husband’s number-one supporter.

But there’s also no denying the fact that she’s worried about him and fears that it’s only a matter of time before he jeopardizes his health for good.

“She’s seen how stoic he is. Hugh’s not one to complain or make a fuss so in some ways it’s her job to advocate. There’s no way he would have this to himself if he didn’t have Deb watching his back – he’s a very lucky man,” the source said.

While it is true that Jackman has been spending plenty of time at the gym, it’s not true that he’s doing it without any regard for his health and safety. It’s unlikely for the actor to put himself at risk just because he needs to bulk up for his role.

It has been several years since Jackman played the role of Wolverine so it’s highly likely that he wants to make his comeback as memorable as possible. But just like what he said when asked about using steroids, he doesn’t love his career this much to risk his health.

So, there’s also no reason for his wife to worry about him because Jackman is healthy and well. As such, it’s obvious that the tabloid just made up this story about Jackman and Furness to make it seem as though they are going through a challenging time in their marriage even when they are not.
