Mindy Kaling recently shocked the entire world with her extreme weight loss. Now, a tabloid is claiming that some of the actress’s friends couldn’t help but worry about her.

National Enquirer, in its Jan. 16 issue, claimed that Kaling’s weight dropped to just 100 pounds.

“It’s insane how much weight she’s dropped in such a short space of time. She barely weighs 100 pounds now, and the fear is that it’s affecting her health. She has dizzy spells and often feels weak and lethargic. She just won’t get it through her head that all this dieting and cleansing is not good for her,” the source said.

Other sources claimed that Kaling simply followed Beyonce’s weight loss regimen, which includes replacing her meals with juices and vegetables. The diet also results in the cleansing of the abdomen on top of weight loss.

But the tabloid’s resident doctor Dr. Gabe Mirkin said that this type of cleansing could be dangerous for the comedian.

“There is no such thing as cleansing. What she’s doing is incredibly dangerous. She’s at an increased risk for a heart attack,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. There’s no indication that Kaling is putting herself in danger with whatever diet and workout she chose to do.

When the comedian showed off her weight loss results, fans, and friends rooted for her. She didn’t also look unhealthy that’s why no one questioned how and what she did to get rid of her unwanted weight.

It is also important to note that the tabloid typically quotes from their resident physicians who have never met or treated Kaling or other actors that have lost weight.

So, to say that Kaling could be at risk for a heart attack without examining her body seems a bit over the top.

At the end of the day, Kaling has the right to lose as much weight as she wants. And it’s also up to her to decide what kind of diet she would follow. The most important thing is that she’s able to get rid of her weight and ensure that she’s healthy not just for herself but also for her two kids, Katherine and Spencer Kaling.
