Jeremy Renner is speaking out for the first time since his snow plow accident on New Year’s Day.

On Tuesday, the 51-year-old actor broke his silence and made a social media update using his official Instagram account. He shared a photo of himself from his hospital bed and thanked everyone who expressed their support and wished him well.

In the caption, Renner wrote, “Thank you all for your kind words,” alongside a pray emoji. He continued, “Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

The post has since amassed more than 2.2 million likes. It has also received over 111,000 comments, most of which are from fans and followers expressing love and support following the accident.

It is added that “he was also helping clear out the snow of his neighbor’s home as everyone up there had been without power for 24 hours and there had been a large snowfall.”

The rep continued, “So he was helping everyone in trying to clear out the snow so people could get out.”

Meanwhile, Jeremy Renner’s rep also shared an update with Entertainment Tonight.

In a statement to the outlet, published Tuesday, the spokesperson said that the “Avengers” actor is “making positive progress and is awake, talking and in good spirits.”

Also, while “he remains in ICU in critical but stable condition,” the rep revealed that Renner is “overwhelmed by the showing of love and support,” adding that the family urges for everyone’s “continued thoughts while he heals with his close loved ones.”
