Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making the headlines as the official teaser for their highly anticipated Netflix docuseries has dropped. However, many are seemingly questioning the timing of the release as the material surfaced amid Prince William and Kate Middleton’s visit to the United States.

Some sources told Page Six that many believe the release of the trailer is a “coordinated campaign” to overshadow the working royals’ overseas trip. One palace insider even claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are out to “disrupt and clash” with the Prince and Princess of Wales.

It comes as the future King and Queen Consort gear up for the second annual Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony, which will take place at the MGM Music Hall, in Boston, on Friday. They arrived in the United States Wednesday to begin the three-day trip, marking their first visit to the country since 2014.

Another source, who is said to be a well-placed royal insider, appeared to have shared similar thoughts about the matter to the publication. As claimed, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “overplayed their hand with a string of PR announcements designed to clash” with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s trip.

Meanwhile, royal watcher Hugo Vickers, reportedly a friend of the British Royal Family, told the outlet of the timing that it is “boring,” although “inevitable.”

Page Six quoted the royal watcher in the same report, stating, “Surprise, surprise, how very boring of Harry and Meghan. But this sort of thing is inevitable. It does sound a bit pretentious what they have produced.”

A royal commentator also had some comments about the timing of the teaser release, telling Express UK that it is a “very aggressive” move on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s part.

Speaking to the publication, which published the claims Thursday, Jonathan Sacerdoti stated that it is not surprising, however, for Netflix and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to do so “as it is in their interest to create as much buzz as possible around the show.”

The royal commentator later added, as well, that “Harry & Meghan” is “potentially explosive” based on the 70-second teaser.

Elsewhere in the report from Page Six, published Thursday, it said other sources were arguing that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had nothing to do with the timing of the release, with the insiders claiming that the heads over at Netflix made the decision.

The publication also learned from a source that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had asked for the material to be dropped on November 28.

The six-part docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” will reportedly premiere on Netflix this December, although the official announcement for the release date has yet to emerge.
