A royal expert has shared some insight into the close relationship between Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth II. As stated, the late monarch was a “phenomenal mentor” to the new Princess of Wales.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Katie Nicholl discussed how “well-prepared” the future Queen Consort is for official functions and engagements. This came after she and the rest of the senior working members of the British Royal Family accompanied King Charles III in hosting the State Banquet at Buckingham Palace for South African President Cyril Ramaphosa last week.

The publication said the royal expert believes the Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge has the ability to glide through such events effortlessly because of the bond she had with the Queen.

Nicholl told the outlet that Kate Middleton and the rest of her family ensured to go to Balmoral “every summer to spend time” with Queen Elizabeth II. She added that these times “were precious, valuable moments” for the royal as they allowed her to develop close ties with her grandmother-in-law.

The royal expert continued that the two royals, indeed, shared a “good relationship,” noting that “mentoring” was part of it, as well as the late monarch “being able to pass on her advice,” “values,” and “guidance” to the Princess of Wales.

The “New Royals” author later pointed out to the magazine that “there isn’t a princess training manual” after stating that the future Queen Consort’s well-preparedness “comes down to her own innate confidence.” Subsequently, she said, “the success of being a princess comes from experience and mentoring.”

In the end, Nicholl stated that Kate Middleton “had a wonderful mentor” in Prince William, whom she married in 2011. But, the expert argued that the royal “had a phenomenal mentor” in Queen Elizabeth II, as well.

Express UK recalled in its report, covering Katie Nicholls’ recent statements, that the future King and Queen Consort attended their first State Banquet in their new roles as the Prince and Princess of Wales last week.

As noted, Kate Middleton donned a white gown by Jenny Packham and accessorized the look with a white clutch from Alexander McQueen and a pair of heels from Gianvito Rossi.

The royal is also said to have completed her ensemble with a pearl bracelet, the well-known pearl drop earrings once owned by Queen Elizabeth II, and the Lover’s Knot Tiara, which the late Princess Diana reportedly often wore.

Elsewhere in the report from OK! Magazine, published Monday, it is said that Katie Nicholl also touched on how Kate Middleton is settling into her new role as Princess of Wales, in relation to the recent State Banquet.

The royal expert shared with the outlet that she did not think the royal “would find an event like the State Dinner overwhelming.” She pointed out that the future Queen Consort has “been with William now for the best part of two decades,” adding that she already “has a lot of royal experience under her belt.”
