Reese Witherspoon doesn’t allegedly want to be sucked into her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe’s messy life.

According to Radar Online, Witherspoon and Philippe are not necessarily feuding, but the Big Little Lies star doesn’t also see any reason why she should be friends with her ex.

After all, Philippe has been involved in a slew of scandals, with the most recent one being with his ex, Elsie, who filed a $1 million lawsuit against him.

Phillippe is also known for having a troubled past. He used to drink and take drugs, and these were some of the reasons why his relationship with Witherspoon did not work out.

The exes share a daughter and son together. And even though Phillippe has gained a bad rep for his past actions, reports confirmed that he has a close relationship with his kids, Ava and Deacon.

Following Witherspoon’s split from Phillippe, she moved on with her now husband, Jim Toth. The happy couple has also been blessed with one child, Tennessee.

Even though Witherspoon and Toth’s relationship is going strong, multiple tabloids have been insisting that the couple is on the brink of a divorce.

Last month, Life & Style claimed that the couple does not have anything much to talk about at home. And they usually just chat about their son and nothing else.

“Reese and Jim can go days without interacting at all, and if they do, it’s usually about their 10-year-old, Tennessee. They’re barely hanging on as a couple,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that Witherspoon and Toth’s marriage is falling apart. And it’s not also true that the couple doesn’t have anything to talk about.

The report published by Radar Online seems inaccurate as well. After all, there’s no reason for Witherspoon to still be upset with Phillippe because they are no longer together.

And since the exes have two kids together, they have no choice but to be civil with each other.

However, it is true that Witherspoon and Phillippe do not need to be friends. But it would do their kids some good if they continue communicating and co-existing for their sake.

And since this is already what’s been happening, this proves that the claims aren’t factual in the first place.
