Ellen DeGeneres has allegedly decided to get on Sherri Shepherd’s side following the success of the latter’s new talk show.

In its Oct. 10 issue, National Enquirer claimed that DeGeneres used to dislike Shepherd especially when they were competing with each other. But now that the comedian no longer hosts The Ellen Show, there’s no reason for her to keep hating on Shepherd.

“Ellen cut Sherri off for not being supportive of the gay community and wanted nothing to do with her,” the source said.

But in recent years, Shepherd already reached out to DeGeneres to apologize. She explained that her previous statements were just taken out of context but it was never her intention to criticize those that belong to the gay community.

“It meant the world to Sherri that she and Ellen finally buried the hatchet. Ellen softened up a lot toward Sherri and says, despite their differences, Sherri is actually more like her than any other talk show host out there. She’s told Sherri she’s happy to give her a helping hand and make her new show a success,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that DeGeneres showed her support for Shepherd and her new talk show. And there’s also no proof that the two hosts had a private conversation about their previous issues.

After all, the alleged conversation between the two hosts happened in private so there’s no way for the tabloid to know all these details.

Meanwhile, DeGeneres is also being dragged into the death of ongoing estate issues of her ex-girlfriend, Anne Heche.

Years before her untimely passing, Heche revealed that she suffered a lot after she decided to make her relationship with DeGeneres public.

However, toward the end of the couple’s relationship, the A-listers had a falling out and DeGeneres said a number of hurtful things about Heche.

Now, the actress’s death is being linked to DeGeneres even though she didn’t have anything to do with it. It’s possible that the link is just being made because they previously dated.

But by the time of Heche’s death, there was no indication that she and DeGeneres were even still friends. After all, their split wasn’t very pleasant and Heche was accused of using DeGeneres for fame.
