Kate Middleton and Princess Diana never had the opportunity to meet. But if they did, the in-laws would’ve gotten along like a house on fire.

While speaking with Closer UK, royal expert Andrew Morton said that Middleton and Princess Diana are quite similar to each other. And one of the things that they have in common is their life and care for their children.

As the new Princess of Wales, Middleton is expected to guard her three kids like a tiger. After all, she knows that a little bit more is expected from Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

“I think Diana and Kate have many similarities and would have got on very well. Diana had a real sense of humor and so does Kate. They’re both sporty, both interested in the arts, and they both went to similar kinds of schools. Above all, they both put their roles as mothers first, guarding their young like tigers. I think despite the role change, for Kate, it remains very much family first as it was with Diana,” he said.

Morton also said that Prince William’s wife is more than ready for her new role and tasks. After all, she has been part of the royal family for the past 11 years.

“Kate has had a long apprenticeship, it’s been 10 years since she became the Duchess of Cambridge, and she’s now a fully-fledged royal. The position of Princess of Wales is one that she will make her own,” he said.

When Middleton first joined the royal family in 2011, she initially struggled to find her own footing. However, this is expected of any outsider who joins the royal family for the first time.

But through the years, the mom of three proved that she is one of the most hardworking and reliable members of the royal family. On top of her job, she’s also a hands-on mom to her kids and a dutiful wife to her husband.

“I think the balancing act between her work and her family life is going to be hard. Having three school-age children and doing many overseas visits will be difficult,” Morton said.

Now, all eyes are on Middleton as she performs her royal duties as the new Princess of Wales. And it’s safe to say that she has the public’s support.
