Competition is getting tougher and tougher among streaming services as more and more of them continue popping up on the market. In its latest move to beef up its library, new streaming service HBO Max announced that they will be streaming international versions of the popular reality show The Bachelor.

According to Deadline, aside from more than 20 seasons of the original American version of The Bachelor, HBO Max will also air the first and second season of the UK version of The Bachelor. The Bachelor Australia will also be on the streaming service, specifically the second and fifth season. Season Three of The Bachelor Canada will also be part of the streaming service’s library, as well as Season One of The Bachelor New Zealand.

Spin-offs of the original show will also be streamed on HBO Max. The Bachelorette will have its 11th to its 14th season on the streaming service. Bachelor Pad and Bachelor in Paradise will also be on HBO Max, specifically three seasons of Bachelor Pad and Season Four to Season Six of Bachelor in Paradise.

International spin-offs that will be on HBO Max include The Bachelorette Canada’s first season and the third season of The Bachelorette Australia. Bachelor in Paradise Australia will also have its first season included in the HBO Max library.

Aside from this bevy of The Bachelor-related shows, Newsweek reports that HBO Max will also offer popular HBO shows like Sex and the City, Westworld, The Sopranos, Insecure, Watchmen, and more.

Of course, one of the biggest draws to the streaming service will be its hosting of the “Synder Cut” of the 2017 superhero movie, Justice League. The Snyder Cut will reportedly cost $20 to $30 million to make.

All of these moves are meant to make HBO Max competitive against other streaming services that have become the preferred mode of entertainment by people forced to stay in their homes because of the global coronavirus pandemic. For instance, competing streaming service Disney+ was able to increase its paid subscriber base to 50 million. Netflix, the current streaming leader, has a paid subscriber base of 187 million paid subscribers.

Having a strong library of movies and shows will certainly help a streaming service stand out, especially since the global coronavirus pandemic isn’t dying down and people might have to spend more time watching streaming services. Globally, there are 5,404512 confirmed cases of COVID-19, as per the World Health Organization’s May 26 situation report. There are now 343,514 people that have died from COVID-19.
