Queen Elizabeth II allegedly invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to go to Balmoral ahead of their return to the United Kingdom. As claimed, the invitation was for a “big royal sleepover” with many members of the British Royal Family.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl made the claims during an engagement with “GB News Breakfast,” according to Express UK. She is said to have noted that the former working royals were “invited at the end of August,” which will have seen them arrive in the U.K. earlier than they planned.

The expert reportedly asserted that the British Monarch “always has this wonderful, extended stay for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren” at Balmoral. She pointed out that it is a “big sleepover,” adding that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “were invited to go to that.”

Nicholl is said to have continued that Prince Charles also invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to go to Birkhall.

The publication later quoted the expert from the exchange, reportedly claiming, “I know from sources very close to the Prince of Wales that he is prepared to do anything it will take to get this relationship back on track, I think not least because he wants to as a father.”

It continues, “He wants to see his children as a grandfather, but I think he’s acutely aware that if there is this rift that threatens to overshadow his future reign as well.”

In the end, the royal expert is said to have added that “there are other issues at play” in this dynamic.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to make official statements regarding the reported invitations. It remains unconfirmed whether they indeed received an invite, although this is not the first time similar claims were made.

In July, days after Queen Elizabeth arrived at Balmoral for her annual summer stay, an insider told The Sun that “staff [has] been told to expect the full list of royals including [the Duke and Duchess of Sussex] and their children…” It was also claimed that “they are preparing for the Sussexes.”

Another source told the outlet that “Balmoral is the perfect place for them to spend a little bit of quality time with the Queen” as “they barely had 15 minutes with her at the [Platinum Jubilee celebrations].”

Following the claims, though, Page Six learned that “there was no such invite.” Multiple sources also reportedly told the publication that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “will not be going to visit” Queen Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain silent over the matter. But, they have already returned to the United Kingdom earlier this week, and it is unclear whether they will meet members of the British Royal Family, including the Queen.
