Taylor Swift surprised her fans and followers with an announcement about her music. She confirmed that a new album is on the way on Sunday.

The “You Need To Calm Down” singer used her official accounts on Instagram and Twitter to share the details of her upcoming track collection. She revealed that it carries the title, “Midnights,” seemingly explaining why she made the posts on Monday midnight.

People, in its recent piece featuring a rundown on the details, quoted the caption Swift made, writing, “Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.”

The announcement on Instagram and Twitter housed two photos, which appear to be official teaser materials for “Midnights.”

Reports said that the first picture is the cover art for Taylor Swift’s tenth and upcoming album. It has a photo of her, donning a blue eyeshadow as she strikes a lighter, as well as revealing the number of tracks for each of the two sides.

Based on the post, the artist’s new album will have 13 tracks. But, she has yet to reveal the song titles.

As for the second photo on Taylor Swift’s post, it appears to explain what “Midnights” and its tracks will be about.

Part of the text reads, “This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face.”

It continues, “For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching - hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve… we’ll meet ourselves.”

So far, these are the only details Swift has shared about “Midnights.”

The “All Too Well” singer first announced her brand new album at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. It came as she won the Video of the Year award and made an acceptance speech, wherein she told her fans about the upcoming project, according to Elle.

Taylor Swift first thanked the fandom for all the support, noting that they would not have been able to make the short film and re-record her previous albums if it were not for the fans. She also emphasized how the supporters “emboldened” her to do these things, so she thought “it might be a fun moment” to tell them her new album will be out on October 21.
