Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez just tied the knot for the second time in Las Vegas this weekend. And now it seems the couple wants to take their relationship to the next level.

According to New Idea, Affleck and Lopez are both content with having their respective children. Affleck has three kids with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. And Lopez is Marc Anthony’s former wife and the exes have two children together.

A source claimed that the couple wants to expand their relationship by having a biological kid. However, this could no longer happen because they’re both quite old.

“Ben and Jennifer are happy they had the opportunity to have children with their previous partners. But it’s been hard to accept that their one-time dream of having a child together will likely no longer be possible. They’ve missed the baby boat, so to speak,” the source said.

The source added that the chances of Lopez using her own eggs to conceive a baby with Affleck are slim to none. After all, the Hustlers star is already in her 50s. So, if the couple insists on having a baby of their own, the only sensible option that they have is adoption.

“If Jennifer did decide to carry his child, it would most likely have to be through the use of a donor egg, which would defeat their original goal of having a child that was part of them both. Knowing they will never be able to meet that baby they once fantasized about having so many years ago is bittersweet,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. Lopez and Affleck are not saddened by the fact that they could no longer have a baby of their own because they already share five kids together. And this is already quite a handful.

When Affleck and Lopez got back together last year, they were aware that Lopez could no longer have a biological child because of her age. As such, it’s unlikely for the couple to have been pressuring themselves about having a baby.

If Affleck and Lopez really want to add a baby to their family, the only way really is for them to adopt someone else’s child.
