Ashley Judd is desperate to get a hold of her late mother Naomi Judd’s autopsy report but authorities are allegedly insisting that it should be kept private.

According to National Enquirer, Ashley was the one who saw her mom’s lifeless body at home so she has every right to know what exactly happened to Naomi.

However, the authorities are refusing to give her a copy of the autopsy report because they are still conducting an investigation.

A source claimed that the authorities do not also want to disclose what items they found on the scene. In fact, the gun that Naomi used to take her life is still under their care.

“Ashley clearly did not participate in this lawsuit. She didn’t actively seek to block the release of the details of her mother’s death or the police report. Ashley had to confront the gory aftermath. I believe she wants the truth to come out to show what mental illness does,” the source said.

However, Naomi’s other daughter, Wynonna, and her husband of 33 years, Larry Strickland, are the ones who want the late singer’s autopsy report to be sealed forever. They are convinced that releasing it for all the world to see would just do more harm than good.

“Wynonna wants to preserve the Judds’ reputation at all costs. She wants everybody to think her family’s perfect. And Larry doesn’t seem to want the media to keep digging up details, especially any information on the gun that was used, who owned it, or what weapons were in the house,” the source said.

But what’s for certain is that there are several guns in Naomi and Strickland’s household. So, it’s highly likely that the gun that the singer used to take her own life came from their collection.

Meanwhile, there are also claims that Naomi sought professional help after she tried to kill herself years ago but failed.

“Naomi went into an inpatient program for anxiety and depression. Afterward, she was put on drugs – antianxiety medication, and antidepressants and saw a therapist. Before her suicide, Naomi was going through another bad bout of depression after gaining weight,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. Not much detail regarding Naomi’s death has been released. So, it’s unlikely for a tabloid to know all these things.
