Courteney Cox paid David McDaid a sweet tribute on social media in celebration of his birthday.

The “Friends” actress wished her partner a Happy 46th Birthday on Sunday. She posted a series of photos on Instagram featuring the two of them together, as well as some moments with Ed Sheeran, who introduced them to each other nearly a decade ago.

In the caption, Cox calls McDaid her “multi-talented Johnny.” She also shared that “he may be getting older (kinda) but watching him play never does,” seemingly explaining some of the photos featuring the Snow Patrol member on stage with his fellow artists.

The 58-year-old celebrity ended her post with “I love you J.”

Mail Online later recalled that the two celebrities have been together since 2013. It also noted that Ed Sheeran introduced Johnny McDaid to Courteney Cox, adding that he only returned the favor after they collaborated on two albums.

Earlier in January, the “Scream” star gushed about her boyfriend in an interview with People for its cover story. She began by stating that “love is precious,” and she has realized it with age.

Cox consequently shared that McDaid is a “great listener,” “great advice-giver,” and “patient,” noting that she has never met someone more like that. She also revealed that she loves his “heart,” “intentions,” and “morals.”

The engagement in January came after the celebrity pair had to spend most of the COVID-19 pandemic far away from each other. They only reunited twice, taking place in late 2020 and mid-2021, amid the crisis.

Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid first sparked romance rumors in 2013. But, they only seemingly confirmed the relationship in January 2014 after hitting up multiple events together, according to Us Weekly.

In the summer of the same year, Ed Sheeran revealed that the two celebrities began living together under one roof. The publication quoted the singer, saying, “Things are moving fast. He moved in and, judging by the last time I saw them, they couldn’t be happier.”

Cox and McDaid announced their engagement two months later. However, they called it off in November 2015 and briefly parted ways.

In March 2016, the “Friends” alum and the Snow Patrol member reunited and spent Easter together. They have since been together, but there have been no talks of an engagement or wedding yet.

Meanwhile, Courteney Cox is gearing up for one of her latest film projects. She is reprising her role as Gale Weathers for the sixth installment of “Scream.”
