Meghan Markle and Prince Harry missed the annual Balmoral visit last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They would skip it again this year even after reportedly receiving an invite from Queen Elizabeth II, according to a royal photographer.

Express UK said the claims came from Charles Rae, who has several other thoughts about the matter. He believes that it is highly unlikely for the former working royals to return to Europe for a summer visit to the Queen at Balmoral.

Speaking to GB News, the commentator shared he is “doubtful” about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex turning out at Balmoral this year. He added, though, that if they do, “they might get more than 15 minutes with the [British Monarch], which is what they got at the Jubilee.”

When asked about his thoughts on the subject, Rae explained that he “just thinks” Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are “on a course to cause as much problems as possible.”

He consequently cited the royal-born Prince’s case with the Home Office over his and his family’s security arrangements in his home country, noting that it is a “potential source of contention” between him and the British Royal Family.

The royal photographer also later stated that “all members of the family are invited to Balmoral and they arrive at different times.” He explained that this has always been the case because Queen Elizabeth II stays in the estate for quite a while.

The monarch reportedly likes having her family around her during her stay at Balmoral.

The royal photographer’s assertions come after news broke that Queen Elizabeth II extended an “olive branch” to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. She allegedly invited the couple to Balmoral for a summer stay with her.

The claims first emerged in The Sun on Sunday.

A source, who was said to be an insider from Balmoral, told the publication that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children, are included on the full list of British Royals who they should expect to arrive.

The outlet later quoted the inside, saying, “They are preparing for the Sussexes.”

Another informant seemingly agreed and asserted that “Balmoral is the perfect place” for the former working royals and their children “to spend a little bit of quality time” with the British Monarch. As added, “they barely had 15 minutes with her at the Jubilee.”

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to confirm the matter. Likewise, the rest of the British Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II, has yet to make official comments regarding the alleged invite.
