Selena Gomez did not know how to react when she heard her Nana’s question about “that guy.”

On Thursday, the 30-year-old celebrity posted a clip on the Rare Beauty TikTok account. It shows her doing a makeup tutorial, particularly her lipliner, when suddenly an off-camera voice asked, “So how did you end it with that guy?”

The video, which Gomez seemingly labeled as a “blooper,” has subtitles, indicating it was her Nana asking the shocking question. She also captioned the clip, writing, “Thanks, Nana.”

The question seemingly took the “Wolves” singer by surprise. Upon hearing it in the background, she paused for a moment before telling her Nana, “I’ll tell you in a second.”

Selena Gomez consequently tried to continue doing her lip routine. But, she ended up cracking a laugh, inevitably ending the video.

E! News released a report on the matter, noting that no one knows who the celebrity’s Nana was referring to in the clip. Whether it was one of her famous former boyfriends, like Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, or someone else altogether, no confirmations have yet to emerge.

Nevertheless, the publication recalled that Gomez confirmed her relationship status earlier in May. It was when she hosted “Saturday Night Live” and talked about the matter in her opening monologue.

E! News quoted the “Ice Cream” singer in a separate report, saying, “One reason I’m really excited to host ‘SNL’ is because I’m single.” It continues, “And I’ve heard ‘SNL’ is a great place to find romance.”

Selena Gomez referenced some of the relationships that have formed because of the comic show. These include Emma Stone and Dave McCary’s, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost’s, as well as Machine Gun Kelly and Pete Davidson’s respective romantic ties with Megan Fox and Kim Kardashian.

Elsewhere in the monologue, the “Hands To Myself” artist noted that she wanted to “put it out in the universe that [she was] manifesting love.” She later joked that she would like to say she was “looking for [her] soulmate but, at [that] point," she stated she would “take anyone.”

Selena Gomez’s last known relationship was with Justin Bieber, with whom she shared an on-and-off romantic tie from 2011. The two celebrities reunited in November 2017 after one of their then most recent breakups.

The “Sorry” singer and the “Rare” artist ended things between them for good in March 2018. Six months later, the former ultimately married Hailey Baldwin, who he dated during one of their previous splits.

Before getting back together with Bieber, Gomez was with The Weeknd. The pair briefly dated from January to October 2017.

Us Weekly learned from a source in March 2020 that the two artists were “cordial.” It was also said that “she has no negative feelings toward him.”
