Ivana Trump passed away at the age of 73.

Following the announcement, best friend Nikki Haskell told Page Six that Ivana Trump was looking forward to her trip to St. Tropez before her untimely passing on Thursday.

The publication quoted her, saying, “She was leaving for St. Tropez tomorrow. This was going to be her first trip away since the [COVID-19] pandemic,” adding that Donald Trump’s first wife was “afraid of getting the virus.”

Haskell also shared that Trump was her “best friend,” and first encountered each other the night she met her first husband. She consequently pointed out that she could not tell “how fabulous she was,” deeming her a “great friend, and the most amazing, inspirational person.”

The New York City Police Department confirmed to People that the former wife of Donald Trump was found alone and unresponsive on a staircase. It came after authorities responded to a 911 call at Trump’s Upper East Side home, Thursday afternoon, adding that she was pronounced dead on the scene.

The former U.S. President was the first to announce the death of his first wife. He made a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, wherein he referred to her as a “wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great inspirational life.”

Ivana Trump’s children with Donald Trump expressed their sadness on social media. Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump paid her a tribute, which featured a series of photos, via their respective official accounts.

The youngest of three siblings, Eric, wrote on Instagram, “Our mother was an incredible woman - a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend.” He continues, “Ivana Trump was a survivor,” and later concludes, “She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children, and ten grandchildren.”

Ivanka, the former First Daughter, meanwhile, shared intimate photos and captioned her post, writing, “Heartbroken by the passing of my mother. Mom was brilliant, charming, passionate, and wickedly funny.”

She adds, “She modeled strength, tenacity, and determination in her every action. She lived life to the fullest - never forgoing an opportunity to laugh and dance.”

Ivana Trump and Donald Trump were married from 1977 to 1992. While the marriage did not reportedly end well between the two, they were later able to reconcile, with Page Six noting that they were on friendly terms before she passed away.

But, the former U.S. President was only one of Ivana’s four husbands. She was first married to Alfred Winklmayr from 1971 to 1973.

After her split from Trump, she tied the knot with Riccardo Mazzucchelli in 1995 and shared a two-year marriage with him. She remarried in 2008, to Rossano Rubicondi, although it only lasted for a year.
