Britney Spears’ dad, Jamie Spears will be deposed on Aug. 12.

According to Page Six, Judge Brenda Penny ordered Jamie to sit down for a deposition next month after she found that he was served properly the first time but failed to show up in court.

The “Toxic” singer’s attorney, Matthew Rosengart slammed Jamie and accused him of hiding and running away from his own deposition. He also stressed that Jamie’s actions are reprehensible by the law.

Meanwhile, Jamie’s team is also pushing for Britney to be deposed. But it’s unclear if this will push through and when.

Jamie’s attorney, Alex Weingarten claimed that Britney should be deposed due to the allegations that she has been making against her estranged dad.

However, the singer’s attorney fired back by saying that Britney doesn’t have knowledge that would be useful in the deposition. Rosengart also said that if Jamie’s team wanted to get information, they should depose the singer’s former business manager, Lou Taylor instead.

According to reports, Jamie was forced to work with Weingarten after his legal team dropped him in the wake of the conservatorship controversy. Months ago, the judge lifted the conservatorship of Britney after years of being ruled by her own father.

Following the decision, Britney cut ties with her dad, as well as the other members of her family. She also started taking more control of her life and even had her IUD removed.

Weeks ago, the singer announced that she was pregnant with her and Sam Asghari’s first child. However, they lost the baby a few days later.

The harrowing incident didn’t stop the couple from making their longtime dream come true. They recently tied the knot in front of their closest friends but Britney did not invite her parents and siblings to the occasion.

Her decision caused another round of controversy and some tabloids accused Asghari of encouraging Spears not to invite her relatives.

Other tabloids also claimed that Spears and Asghari were starting to regret their decision to tie the knot so suddenly after the conservatorship was lifted.

“She seems to be having second thoughts about all the changes in her life. She’s already talked about returning the wedding presents, and those close to her think a divorce could be coming soon,” the source said.

However, this claim has not been proven by anyone.
