There reportedly was a “lack of trust” on Kate Middleton and Prince William’s part. This was said to be the possible reason why no engagement happened between them and the Sussexes during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Cheat Sheet said that the claims came from royal expert Katie Nicholl. As noted, it comes after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the United Kingdom for the historic event.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the expert weighed in on the relationship between the two couples. She said that the lack of meeting and engagement between them does not only signal “a busy timetable” on the Cambridges’ end but, “perhaps also a bit of a lack of trust.”

Nicholls alleged that Kate Middleton and Prince William were “very worried that anything they might say or do with the fact that it could end up being leaked to the media.” Accordingly, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry need to “prove now that they can be trusted.”

The publication later shared, as well, what the expert thought about how the Duke of Sussex may ease some tension between his own family and the British Royal Family. She asserted that the royal-born Prince and his wife should “respect the wishes of the royals” if they intend to move on, repair relationships, and “heal some pretty deep wounds.”

A separate source had a similar assertion about the dynamic among Kate Middleton, Prince William, Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry.

This came after the two former working royals reportedly extended an “olive branch” to the future King and Queen Consort and invited them to their youngest child’s first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage. However, the senior working royals were not able to accept the invite due to their official duties and responsibilities during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The insider, who was said to be based in the United Kingdom, told Page Six, on the other hand, at the time that the Duke of Cambridge was “still wary of spending any time alone” with the Duke of Sussex. As suggested, this was because he and the Duchess of Cambridge “never quite know what may be reported back afterwards.”

Following the claims, Suggest “explored” the allegations to find the truth behind them. It noted that, while some may see Kate Middleton and Prince William’s absence at the Sussex’s party as a “snub” to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this may not be the case at all.

The publication reiterated that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had “prior commitments,” which were officially part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Hence, it is reportedly “safe to assume” that this was the only reason behind their absence.
