Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to Britain for the queen’s Platinum Jubilee was one of the most highly-anticipated events over the four-day celebrations.

After all, this would’ve been the couple’s first time reuniting with Prince William and Kate Middleton since they quit The Firm in 2020.

But a royal insider told People that the Sussexes and the Cambridges did right by Queen Elizabeth. After all, they opted not to be seen together so that royal fans could focus all their attention on the monarch.

“It was meant to be all about the Queen, and it didn't give people the chance to speculate about their relationship,” the source said.

Even though the Sussexes and the Cambridges were technically in the same venue, they still didn’t cross paths. For instance, Prince Harry and Markle sat with Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice during the queen’s Thanksgiving Service.

Prince William and Middleton, on the other hand, sat on the front row of St. Paul’s Cathedral together with Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.

The seating arrangement at the cathedral was also quite telling because the Cambridges and the Cornwalls sat together because they are the future kings and queen consorts of the British monarchy.

Prince Harry and Markle are no longer considered working royals. So, they are not in the same ranks as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

The Sussexes didn’t also join the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Instead, they were photographed with Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall, and their daughters.

Following their outing, eagle-eyed royal fans are now speculating on the Sussexes and Cambridges’ relationship. Some are convinced that things are still frosty between Prince William and Prince Harry, as well as Markle and Middleton.

In fact, they are convinced that they found the perfect proof that the sisters-in-law are still at odds with each other. After all, a clip from last week’s Thanksgiving Service shows Markle turning her head away from Middleton as the latter was walking to her seat.

It is unclear if this was done intentionally, but Markle turned her head to the right immediately after Middleton got to her seat. Still, it’s possible that this was purely coincidental.

According to royal commentator Omid Scobie, Markle and Middleton have always been on good terms. The only issue is that they never had the opportunity to become close.
